Randy's Early Career

Randy Gilbert has consistently been a loving, caring, and proactive individual focused on making the world a better place to live.
Randy' first career was in the US Coast Guard, saving lives and protecting the environment by making sure ships were built and operated safely. As an engineer he massively improved the safety of International shipping and in 1987, was awarded Federal Engineer of the Year. 
Randy retired after serving 22 years,  and was led to form the Center for Maritime Leadership, to improve ship safety above governmental regulations. He became known as DrProactive, as he helped ARCO MARINE design the safest and cleanest tankers in the world. They were the last three large commercial ships built in the USA.
After 9/11, Randy felt called to a second career focused on writing and marketing books to teach his proactive approach to life and volunteering in his Shenandoah, VA community.

Randy's Midlife Career

In 2004, Randy formed a “philanthropic business” that proactively funded community projects, funded by building homes. One was a 5-field Soccer-Plex, donated to the local Soccer League. Randy helped to form the first Free Clinic in Virginia to help the economically disadvantaged and there are now 73 of them in Virginia. Over a 10-year period, Randy helped to finance three libraries so that every town in his county would have a way to improve literacy. 
In 2016, Randy took on an active role in politics and was awarded the highest award, the Presidential Legion of Merit. Randy's proactive approach to winning elections helped to place numerous people into political offices, including Glenn Youngkin as Governor of Virginia.
In 2026, Randy founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit called the "Lighthouse of Healing Hope Foundation." 
The mission of LOHHF is to help people suffering from debilitating chronic illnesses, by giving them real healing hope through mold-safe, toxin-free Healing Homes that meet their every need; physically, mentally, and spiritually. 
LOHHF has a bold 10-year vision to build and provide 1,000 Healing Homes. Also to proactively address Childhood Trauma with a Speakers Bureau for teen and young adult events. This proactive approach is where true healing begins as it removes the root causes of manr illnesses and restores Healing Hope.
